Ben Affleck Showers Jennifer Lopez With Praises After Divorce

In a recent interview, the actor praised Lopez, describing her as someone “enormously important” to him and whom he adores and is deeply grateful for.

Ben Affleck also shared that Jennifer Lopez has a “great” relationship with his children and continues to be part of their lives.

At the premiere of his film “The Accountant 2,” Ben Affleck spoke warmly about his ex, Jennifer Lopez, confirming they remain on good terms and that she continues to have a close, ongoing relationship with his children.

“Jennifer Lopez is spectacular, great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them,” said the actor, who attended the event with all five children, per Entertainment Tonight.

He co-parents three kids, Samuel, 13, Seraphina, 16, and Violet, 19, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, while Lopez has 17-year-old twins, Emme and Max, with her former husband, Marc Anthony.

During the conversation, Affleck also revealed that he felt the same way about Lopez’s kids and went on to heap more praise on the “Shotgun Wedding” star, whom he split from last year.

He added, “I love her kids. They’re wonderful. She’s [an] enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to.”

In a recent cover story with GQ Magazine, Affleck also noted that much of the speculation surrounding his divorce from the “Maid in Manhattan” actress was false.

“There’s a tendency to look at breakups and want to identify root causes or something. But honestly … the truth is much more quotidian than probably people would believe or would be interesting,” the “Argo” star noted.

He added, “There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue. The truth is, when you talk to somebody, ‘Hey, what happened?’ Well, there is no, ‘This is what happened.'”

One of the rumors surrounding their breakup was that Affleck and Lopez’s clashing personalities led to tension. In the interview, Affleck acknowledged their differences but insisted that those contrasting traits had little to do with their split.

“My temperament is to be a little bit more reserved and private than hers. As happens in relationships, you don’t always have the same attitude towards these things,” Affleck told the publication.

The actor then clarified, “I think it’s important to say that wasn’t the cause of some major fracture.”

Unlike Affleck’s revelation, which seemed more focused on clarifying rumors about his split from the “Unstoppable” star, Lopez chose to talk about the emotional toll of the divorce when she broke her silence.

She told Interview Magazine that the breakup, which officially happened last August, was “f–ing hard.”

“It feels lonely, unfamiliar, scary. It feels sad. It feels desperate,” the “Can’t Get Enough” singer told the publication about being single.

She added, “But when you sit in those feelings and go, ‘These things are not going to kill me, it’s like actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself. Being in a relationship doesn’t define me. I can’t be looking for happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within myself.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, the actress shared that she doesn’t regret ending her marriage and that it was “exactly what she needed.”

Now a single man, Affleck hasn’t revealed whether he is ready to begin dating again or already has someone.

In the meantime, he has shared that he isn’t great at flirting, similar to his character, Christian Wolff in “The Accountant 2,” who also struggles with wooing women.

“Here’s a guy who’s trying to figure out — he wants to have a relationship with a woman, he’s trying to figure out how to do that, like, how to put yourself out there,” said Affleck, per Page Six.

“He’s not comfortable extending himself,” the actor added about the character. “He doesn’t really know how to flirt exactly…. like so many of us.”

A source who spoke to the Daily Mail revealed that while Affleck and Lopez are saddened by the end of their marriage, they seem to be channeling their energy into their careers rather than dwelling on heartbreak.

“They are both sad that the marriage did not work out,” the source said. “Instead of crying over it, however, they are working their hearts out. They love being busy with solid projects.”

They added that the former couple “wants more successes, more hit films, more awards.”

Lopez, who previously canceled her 2024 tour, is now gearing up for a limited run of summer performances.

Meanwhile, Affleck was spotted on the set of his latest project, “Animals,” filming a scene in a Los Angeles river.
