Barbie Ferreira’s Broadway debut isn’t just drawing theatergoers, it’s drawing some very familiar faces from her past.

The “Euphoria” alum has been performing in “Cult of Love” since December 2024, and recently shared that several of her former castmates have been showing up to support her from the audience, including Sydney Sweeney.

Sweeney, who Ferreira calls “like the busiest woman on Earth,” managed to keep a promise she’d made while filming “The Housemaid” in New Jersey.

“I got a text that day, between the matinee and the evening [performance], from her asking ‘Can I come? I wrapped early,'” Ferreira recalled when speaking with PEOPLE. “She came, I had no idea, I wasn’t expecting it, I thought she was going to be busy, but she came, she showed up and it was so wonderful.”

Ferreira also spoke about the moment to Brit + Co, saying, “It was so beautiful to be supported like that, especially like in a live theater. It was unexpected and I’m just so happy she came to support. I love Sydney.”

And Sweeney wasn’t the only “Euphoria” star in attendance. Ferreira shared that Maude Apatow and Lukas Gage also came to see her on stage. “It was a great little reunion. I was very much in New York, in ‘play’ mode, so it was good to see familiar faces,” she told PEOPLE.

Ferreira left “Euphoria” in 2022 after two seasons as Kat Hernandez, a fan-favorite character known for her bold personality and emotional depth. She confirmed her departure in a heartfelt message to fans on social media.

“I hope many of you could see yourself in her like I did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today,” she expressed. “I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it. Love you, Katherine Hernandez.”

How ‘Euphoria’ Changed Barbie Ferreira’s Relationship With Social Media

The actress also revealed that her relationship with the internet shifted dramatically once the hit HBO series catapulted her into the spotlight.

“When ‘Euphoria’ came out, I was so used to being on the internet. I was always telling everyone everything I was doing, always talking to the camera, just always filling people in,” she explained. “And I think my biggest sacrifice as an actor is that I don’t use the internet for fun anymore.”

Ferreira admitted that while she still scrolls social media like many of us, posting has lost its appeal. “I mean, obviously, I scroll through TikTok, but I don’t post a lot for fun most of the time. I just feel like it’s not the same being an actor who’s in a show that’s popular.”

“I think instead of me kind of lingering around for nine months, I think it was best for both of us that we just ended it there,” she revealed. “Of course, it’s hard. I love ‘Euphoria.’ I love Kat. Kat means the world to me. I mean, I spent so many years pouring everything into her, but it’s like, you don’t want to ruin a good thing.”

“It was a mutual decision,” she emphasized. “It was absolutely not just me. Everyone decided that… there was nowhere to go, and that’s hard obviously because I’m like, ‘What am I going to do?’ But again, with acting, things happen all the time and you just have to have thick skin and make the right decisions for you in your career.”
