  • The bar front door from Cheers recently sold at auction for six figures

  • Pieces from the original ’70s Wonder Woman TV show costume sold for a collective $240,500

  • Other notable items came from Frasier, M*A*S*H*, All in the Family, Bewtiched and more

Want to own a literal piece of TV history? It may cost a pretty penny.

The original front door to TV’s favorite bar, “Where Everybody Knows Your Name,” was sold at auction for six figures. The entrance, which boldly displays the Cheers logo, appeared weekly during the entirety of the comedy series’ eleven-year run. Julien’s Auctions, a California-based company, sold the piece during “Channel Surfing,” TV’s biggest auction held May 7 and 8 in Los Angeles.

As the event’s single highest-selling item, the entryway sold for $162,500. But it wasn’t the only piece of Cheers memorabilia for sale. Sam Malone’s (Ted Danson) Boston Red Sox jacket from the “Days of Wine and Neuroses” episode sold for $10,400. The USPS letter carrier outfit worn by Cliff Clavin (John Ratzenberger) also sold for $10,400.

Dedicated fans of the ‘80s TV classic remember every nook and cranny of that fictional Boston bar that served as home base for the show’s main characters. Each episode followed the bar’s owner, Malone, and his employees and patrons. The Emmy-winning comedy ran from 1982 to 1993 and catapulted the careers of Danson, Ratzenberger, Rhea Perlman, George Wendt, Woody Harrelson, Shelley Long and more.

Memorabilia from Cheers were not the only high-ticket items up for sale. Taking second place, at an impressive $130,000, was the bodysuit and bracelets worn in the ’70s by Lynda Carter in Wonder Woman. Her tiara and earrings sold for $26,000 while the “Lasso of Truth” sold for $32,500.

“I’m thrilled to win this incredible piece of television history,” Beverly Hills tech investor Anthony Jabin told Julien’s Auctions after purchasing the bodysuit and bracelets. “It’ll look great in my collection next to Marilyn Monroe’s bathing suit.”

Combining the bodysuit, bracelets, boots, lasso, tiara and earrings, the entire costume sold for $240,500. The auction company previously sold the Wonder Woman costume used by Gal Gadot in the 2017 film of the same name for $117,000.

Lynda Carter played Wonder Woman for three years in the live-action show. The actress even made a cameo in the 2020 film Wonder Woman 1984 as Asteria.

Other top sellers come straight from Seattle. The neoclassic coffee table and set decorations from Dr. Frasier Crane’s (Kelsey Grammer) penthouse living room in Frasier sold for $78,000.  The mocha suede Coco Chanel-inspired sofa and pillows sold for $52,000, while the side table with vase sold for $32,500.
