Jackass Forever? Not for Bam Margera.

The former pro skateboarder and stunt performer declared himself done with the slapstick Jackass franchise that propelled him and costars Johnny Knoxville and Steve O, among others, to fame in the 2000s. The damage, he said, has been done in the wake of his fallout and legal troubles with his former stunt bros.

“They have new dudes, and what they did to me, making me go to treatment and paying for it, and then not putting me in a movie, and I had to go to court over it,” Margera told CinemaBlend in an interview published this week. “You couldn’t offer me enough money to want to do another Jackass with them. The damage has been done.”

Margera also dismissed revival interest of his spin-off series Viva La Bam, which featured a series of antics that involved his friends and family, including his unassuming parents, Phil and April. “I just feel like that type of show has completely run its course,” he said.

Co-created by Knoxville, Spike Jonze, and Jeff Tremaine, debuted on MTV in the fall of 2000 and became a cultural phenomenon, following Margera and co. as they performed a series of dangerous and often crude stunts and pranks. The three-season series would go on to spawn four films, the most recent being 2022’s Jackass Forever.

A key member of the franchise, Margera had a limited role in that entry. He was fired from the film for breach of contract relating to his substance use. He filed a lawsuit against his former collaborators and Paramount Pictures in 2021 that alleged wrongful termination as a result, but dropped it the following year after reaching a private settlement.

Knoxville left the door open for more Jackass films in the future while speaking to Variety last year. “Someone wrote [Jackass Forever] was the last one, but we never said it was the last one,” Knoxville said. “I mean, it could go on, we could do another one if we wanted. I don’t know if we want to, but we could let the old guys come in and have fun, but put it more on the young cast. I don’t know. After [the first two films], we’re like ‘Never.’ And then there we made a third one and now we make a fourth one. So, we’re never saying never.”
