Arkansas wide receiver Jordan Anthony became an NCAA champion in his other sport on Friday night.

Anthony won the men’s 100M dash to back up his SEC title with a national title. Anthony ran the 100 meters in 10.07 seconds to capture the title from the outside in Lane 9.

Anthony is the first Arkansas runner to win the 100 since Jarrion Lawson in 2016. He edged USC’s Max Thomas and LSU’s Jelani Watkins. Each were classified with a 10.10-second time, but Thomas officially won second with a 10.091 to Watkins’ 10.092.

The Mississippi native’s time is faster than the time Tyreek Hill was bragging about posting earlier in the week. The Miami Dolphins receiver posted that he ran a 10.15 in the 100M amid his ongoing social-media beef with Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles. Hill keeps wanting to challenge Lyles to a race despite Lyles’ numerous faster times than Hill’s 10.15 seconds. Lyles won his gold medal at the Paris games last summer with a 9.784.

Anthony was a redshirt sophomore during the 2024 football season and had eight catches for 111 yards and a TD with two rushing attempts for seven yards.

Anthony is in his first full year at Arkansas after stints at two other SEC schools. He signed with Kentucky out of high school as a four-star recruit but redshirted in his season with the Wildcats. He transferred to Texas A&M ahead of the 2023 season and played in four games before transferring to Fayetteville after his lone season in College Station.

Anthony’s win at the SEC championships in May helped power the Razorbacks to the men’s conference title with 98.5 points. Georgia finished second with 87, two points ahead of Alabama.
