Apple seems to be making some changes to its executive team. This time, the company is naming a global VP who will be in charge of Apple’s retail stores around the world.

Apple has a new VP of retail stores

Although the company is yet to confirm the news, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that the company is “promoting” Vanessa Trigub as Apple’s vice president of stores and retail operations. Trigub previously managed locations in the Americas West region. “Now she’ll oversee the heads of retail for Europe and the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and the Americas East region,” the report says.

While Trigub will have more responsibilities as VP of retail stores, Apple aims to simplify the retail organization with the new role. Currently, all retail operations are overseen by Deirdre O’Brien. However, with the departure of Carol Surface, Apple’s first Chief People Officer, O’Brien also took over the HR department.

Trigub joined Apple in 2007 shortly after the launch of the first iPhone. She was responsible for a number of roles in the company’s finances, mergers, and acquisitions. The report notes that O’Brien will have “fewer direct reports” with the change. Instead of managing retail executives for each region, she will oversee Trigub in charge of retail stores.

People familiar with the matter say that Apple sees Trigub as a potential replacement for O’Brien once she decides to leave – she has worked for the company for more than three decades. The news comes a week after Apple replaced Siri chief John Giannandrea with Mike Rockwell, current VP of Vision Pro.
