“They weren’t planning on me being there,” Ramos added. “They cut that part, and choreographed that whole number.”
The triple threat, who currently stars in Ironheart, saw his schedule open up at the last minute, making it possible for him to join the cast onstage. “I texted Lin [Manuel-Miranda] Saturday saying, ‘Yo, is it too late to join you all?’ He answered, ‘Are you serious? You got a black suit?'”
“They fit me in where I could fit in. There was a moment for me, but they had to take it out because they weren’t planning on me being there,” he concluded.
Cohen wrapped up his remarks by asking Ramos, “Was it fun doing that number?” He responded, “Yes. Ten years later, just seeing everybody on stage looking amazing.”
Ramos joined Lin-Manuel Miranda, Carleigh Bettiol, Andrew Chappelle, Ariana DeBose, Alysha Deslorieux, Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jonathan Groff, Sydney James Harcourt, Neil Haskell, and Sasha Hutchings on stage for the performance.
Also appearing were Christopher Jackson, Thayne Jasperson, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Stephanie Klemons, Morgan Marcell, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Javier Muñoz, Leslie Odom, Jr., Okieriete Onaodowan, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Jon Rua, Austin Smith, Phillipa Soo, Seth Stewart, Betsy Struxness, Ephraim Sykes, and Voltaire Wade-Greene.
The performance included a medley of songs from the Broadway musical. The montage began with “Non-Stop” and “My Shot”, then moved into “The Schuyler Sisters,” “Guns and Ships,” “You’ll Be Back,” “Yorktown (The World Turned Upside Down),” “The Room Where It Happens,” and ended with “History Has Its Eyes on You.”
