Angus Cloud’s mother, Lisa, says her late son will be specially honored by his friends on the second anniversary of his death.
“The homies are doing some graffiti and adding to the mural down the street,” she tells PEOPLE exclusively.
Lisa adds that there will be a gathering at the mural site, which holds significance to the family. “Conor stopped in that corner store every day,” she remembers of her son, born Conor Angus Cloud Hickey.

The Euphoria actor died of an accidental overdose on July 31, 2023 at 25.
“He went out at his total power, his total beauty, his total influence, and the reaction that everyone has had is very moving to me,” Lisa told PEOPLE in September 2023. “You know, he’s not just an actor who overdosed. He was a beautiful soul, and that’s why people miss him so much.”
Lisa reflected on the time that has passed since Angus’s death in a statement obtained by PEOPLE on July 30. “July 31 marks the second anniversary of our beloved son, brother, friend leaving this world. [A lot] has happened in these two years,” she wrote.
The grieving mother said the creation of a skate park in Angus’s honor, Cloud Park, is still in the works.
She also stated that the proceeds from auctioning off some of the late actor’s belongings last year were used, in part, to open an outdoor studio space for artists. The proceeds also supported those who lost their homes in the Los Angeles fires in February.
“I made a promise to my son to continue supporting the people and projects he gave so generously to during his life,” Lisa wrote.

She included a sweet family update in her statement, writing that her two daughters have both graduated from college.
Lisa concluded her post by sharing her own experience with grief. “I work hard to keep myself focused on how very blessed we all are to have had our beautiful, kind, joyful and hilarious, trickster/hooligan on earth with us for 25 years,” she wrote.

The mother added that Angus’s “values, sense of wonder, creativity, and generosity infused our lives (and the lives of millions of people he never met) with love and magic.”

Lisa expressed that she sometimes feels “like I’m holding back the overwhelming tidal wave of grief with nothing but my own two hands.”
“People often talk of love, but rarely mention the fact that love is not just a feeling, it’s a verb. To give love and receive love is the reason we are here. My son knew that and so do those who he held so closely to his heart,” Lisa wrote.
As a final message, she encouraged people to “not to give in to the mean-spirited cynicism that surrounds us, but to greet each day as Conor did, with a sense of wonder and curiosity, focusing on the sweetness of life.”
