American Idol winner Iam Tongi’s dramatic weight loss is turning heads.
The Season 21 champ walked the red carpet for the Lilo & Stitch premiere at El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles over the weekend, showing off a significantly slimmer appearance.
In fact, he’s 115 pounds slimmer, as he revealed to People about his weight loss transformation, explaining that he’s been “working on himself” to “stay healthy.”
He even elaborated on the secret to his weight loss, emphasizing the importance of staying committed to a daily fitness routine.
“We have a workout session maybe around 11, come back [home], and we go to an ice bath or sauna … or whatever it is. And then we come back, shower and go on a walk,” the 20-year-old detailed.
So far, losing over 100 pounds has left him feeling “amazing” and “great.”
Of course, life’s all about balance, so when the Hawaiian-born country artist isn’t focusing on his fitness, he’s “working on an album,” revealing that he’s “inspired by a lot of soul,” and emphasizing his excitement to have a song in the new live-action Disney movie.
Fans were thrilled to see him hit the blue carpet in his home state, with comments such as, “Yay!! Keep on shining ❤️🔥,” and, “Looking good Toko! Trimming down I see.”
Others congratulated him on all his success, adding that they “couldn’t wait” to see the movie.
“I’ve had a blast working with Disney on the soundtrack. Attending the World Premier, spending time with cast & crew and seeing a preview of the film did not disappoint. A huge congratulations to everyone involved. Mahalo,” he captioned a post from the exciting premiere.
He even earned praise from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who commented under a video Tongi shared of their singalong, writing, “Yessah! Proud of you uso for all you do for our culture, I’m even more proud of all the hard work you’re putting in taking care of YOU. That matters most. Looking forward to working with you!”
