American Idol music supervisor Robin Kaye and husband Thomas Deluca have reportedly died in a double homicide after being shot to death in their Encino home.

Officers found the pair dead at 70 years old, respectively, while responding to a welfare check at the residence on the 4700 block of White Oak Avenue on Monday, July 15, according to CBS News. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the news the following morning.

Authorities are still searching for the suspect.

The late couple’s identity was not confirmed by officials However, TMZ later reported that Kaye and Deluca were the deceased victims in the home once owned by late rapper Juice WRLD.

Meanwhile, multiple neighbors told KTLA that they called 9-1-1 and reported that someone had climbed the fence surrounding the property and attempted to break in.

“My renter saw someone hopping the fence back on Thursday and she called 911,” Amee Faggen told the news outlet. “But we [haven ’t] heard anything since then, so we have no idea if it’s even related or not. It’s frightening, obviously, and we don’t have any more information.”

According to the reports, Kaye and Deluca purchased the home in 2023, and it previously served as a rental property.

A spokesperson shared the devastation the American Idol team felt in a statement to Deadline.

“Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her,” the statement read. “Robin will remain in our hearts forever and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time.”

Kaye served as a music supervisor on American Idol for 15 years after joining the reality singing competition in 2002, according to her IMDb. Her efforts on the series earned her three Guild of Music Supervisors awards for Best Music Supervision for Reality Television.

Before Kaye planted her roots in California, she spent the early days of her career working at Waylon Jennings and later as the VP of Artist Development and Broadcast Media at MTM Records in Nashville. Chicago was the next stop when she filled the role of a VP of Sound Management before she made her way to Los Angeles and ran multiple massive music labels.
