After 16 years, Alyssa Milano’s “favorite place” is still her husband’s hand.

On Friday, Aug. 15, the actress and activist, 52, celebrated her 16th wedding anniversary with husband David Bugliari with a tribute on Instagram. She shared a carousel brimming with photos of the couple over the years — starting with some sweet snaps from their 2009 New Jersey nuptials.

Elsewhere in the anniversary post, the Who’s the Boss? alum included several selfies and cuddly photos of herself and her talent agent husband, 44, with whom she shares two children. In the caption, she rounded out the celebratory post with a heartfelt message.

“Sixteen years, @dbugliari!” Milano wrote. “Our Love is the life we made in between the big moments.”

“You’re in every good memory I have and your hand is still my favorite place,” the actress continued. “I love you. Happy Anniversary.”

Milano and Bugliari — who share son Milo Thomas, 13, and daughter, Elizabella Dylan, 10 — got together thanks to none other than Milo Ventimiglia.

A mutual friend of the now-couple, Ventimiglia encouraged the pair to act on their feelings while he and Milano were filming the 2007 horror film Pathology. (She was signed to the agency Bugliari worked for at the time.)

After trusting Ventimiglia’s advice, the agent and the actress began dating. Bugliari later popped the question in December 2008, and the pair tied the knot at his family home in New Jersey in 2009. They went on to name their son, Milo, after the matchmaker.

Recalling her and Bugliari’s beginnings to PEOPLE in 2017, Milano said: “I used to confide in Milo Ventimiglia and say, ‘Is that weird if I date an agent that’s at my agency?’ and he was very, like, ‘No, if you’re compatible, you should go for it.’ ”

“So I feel like he was responsible for my husband and me getting together,” she added at the time.

While the message Milano wrote for her latest anniversary tribute was heartfelt and sweet, it was a sliver compared to the entire chapter she dedicated to him in Sorry Not Sorry, her 2021 book structured as a collection of personal essays.

Reflecting on their marriage in the chapter, titled “David,” she wrote, “People often break out the old cliché. ‘Love means never having to say you’re sorry.’ Boy, do I call bulls— on that.”

“Love, in many ways, is a constant state of apology,” she continued. “It means recognizing the things that you fail at, knowing that the person you love sees them too, and trying so hard to be better at them.”

“But most important, it means being loved in return even with those shortcomings,” Milano wrote. “It means that the apology is usually accepted, and it’s usually sincere. Love is not a casual ‘sorry.’ Love is making amends. Love is forgiveness. Love is success and failure. Love is perpetual apology.”
