Duchess Meghan stayed offline during her 44th birthday, which fell on Monday, August 4, but after a sweet, low-key celebration with her family, she returned to Instagram to share a bit about her special day.
Last night, Meghan shared a photo of herself sitting at a small table in a dimly-lit restaurant, blowing out the candles on a beautiful cake decorated with yellow flowers. She wore a white top with silver beads, plus a smoky eye, and was surrounded by loved ones, including husband Prince Harry.
“Blowing out the candles on a beautiful 24 hours, and thanking my husband, friends and family for making it so special,” she wrote in the caption.
The As Ever founder also thanked her fans. “To those of you I don’t know, but who send love every day – thank you so much. Please know I feel it and appreciate it ❤️,” she wrote.
Later in her caption, the Duchess of Sussex explained that she had her birthday dinner at celebrated Beverly Hills restaurant Funke, led by Chef Evan Funke. Meghan wrote that Funke and his team’s “culinary mastery” graced her with “the top five meals of my life.” She added, “Extraordinary 🍝 Thank you for a standout dining experience.”
Meghan did not post more images from her birthday celebration, but her As Ever team did mark her day by sharing a never-before-seen portrait of the duchess. In the black-and-white photo, Meghan wears a spaghetti-strap linen dress and a white wide-brim hat, plus her signature gold jewelry and messy low bun.
Her longtime friend and former Suits costar Abigail Spencer also shared a post wishing Meghan a happy birthday. (The two actually share a birthday.) In it, she included old photos of the two during their acting days in Canada.
