The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer changed into a second look for the reception
Demi Lovato’s wedding dress was designed just for her.
The “Confident” singer met her husband, Jordan “Jutes” Lutes, in January 2022, when they co-wrote her song “Substance.” After the pair went public with their romance in August 2022, Lovato opened up about their love story during a July 2023 interview on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up, saying that they were “so happy.”
“We became friends first. We were friends for several months and then we decided to start dating and well, after we told each other how we felt,” the Disney Channel alum said, adding that Lutes is her “best friend.”
After getting engaged in December 2023, the couple tied the knot on May 25 in a romantic ceremony in California. Following their nuptials, a source close to Lovato told PEOPLE that she has “never been happier” after marrying Lutes.
“The wedding setting was pure magic — an oceanfront estate with sweeping views of the coastline,” the source told PEOPLE of the ceremony.
From the gown’s design to her reception outfit change, here’s everything to know about Demi Lovato’s wedding dress.

“I have been a fan of Vivienne Westwood’s designs for a long time,” Lovato told the outlet. “When I was thinking about [what dress style I wanted] I often found myself coming back to Vivienne’s designs—specifically how the silhouettes really compliment the curves in your body.”
Lovato’s dress bore a striking resemblance to the Westwood gown fellow Disney Channel alum Miley Cyrus wore at her 2018 wedding to now-ex Liam Hemsworth.
The silk gown was perfected over five fittings
Lovato’s dress was created over the span of five fittings in Los Angeles, where the Vivienne Westwood couture team flew in from London. According to Vogue, “the entire process began with an image of a Westwood gown that Demi found online.”
Per the outlet, Lovato was drawn to the original gown for its “creative draping and use of corsetry.”
“We were not only able to work off that [initial] inspiration, but we added touches that really make this dress so special to me,” Lovato said. “I love everything about the dress.”
The “Heart Attack” singer was heavily involved in each step of the design process, which began with mixing and matching top and skirt options in the first session.

Lovato’s Westwood dress was made with “heavy silk satin fabric” and featured a corset bodice, according to Vogue.
In addition to the corsetry, it also included a “romantic neckline that swept across the shoulders and was cinched at the waist, with bespoke draped detailing at the front,” per the outlet.
According to Vogue, the design was “partly inspired by high society women of the 18th century, while the A-line shape of the skirt was folded and draped to be reminiscent of ancient Greek statues.”

Lovato changed into a second Vivienne Westwood dress for the reception
After the ceremony, Lovato donned a second Westwood look: an ivory silk satin column dress with a draped corset top, per Vogue.
According to the outlet, the reception dress — named “The Audrey” — featured broken pearls cascading from the neckline.
“There was so much attention to detail on the reception dress beading,” Lovato told Vogue. “The pearl detail and draping is such a special element, and each strand was draped and attached by hand, one by one. It’s a one-of-a-kind piece that makes me feel so special.”
