All American season 7 ended with a football — and a lot of questions — in the air.
The latest season of The CW sports drama is now on Netflix, and the newest batch of episodes brought the action back to Beverly Hills High and South Crenshaw High.
Notably, six cast members exited the series as regulars before the show headed into its seventh installment: Daniel Ezra, Samantha Logan, Cody Christian, Karimah Westbrook, Monét Mazur and Chelsea Tavares. This news left three longtime actors — Michael Evans Behling, Greta Onieogou and Bre-Z — and a new generation to carry on the All American legacy.
Season 7 follows Coop (Bre-Z), Jordan (Evans Behling) and Layla (Onieogou) as they continue adjusting to adulthood. Coop is in law school, while Jordan and Layla are juggling their married and professional lives. (Jordan stayed busy as a coach at South Crenshaw High School, and Layla was occupied producing music for her record label.)
Now that all seasons of All American are streaming on Netflix, how does season 7 end? Here’s everything to know about the dramatic football-filled finale.

After recovering from being stabbed earlier in the season, Jordan returns as a coach for the Chargers. The teams prepare for their showdown, and it is revealed that Coach Bobby (Gilbert Glenn Brown) is out sick, forcing Jordan to fill in as head coach for the big game.
When an electrical blackout delays the football game. Jordan and Cassius, who are cousins, take steps to repair their relationship, while they wait for the match to resume. After power is restored, the game continues, with football frenzy filling the final moments of the finale.

Antonio J Bell as Khalil in ‘All American’.
Yes, the All American season 7 finale closes with a cliffhanger. KJ throws the ball, but the audience doesn’t know who wins the game between the Eagles and Chargers.
According to showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll, this heart-pumping moment is intentional and filled with meaning, culminating in a moment that can define characters.
“It is symbolic of the unresolved nature of the [Cassius] Jeremy family and the [Jordan] Baker family and their relationship, of the unresolved nature of Khalil and Amina’s relationship, of this new generation’s struggle,” she explained to TVLine.
“For us, who won that game and who gets to declare themselves the victor of everything that went down over the season felt like such a powerful way to end the episode,” she continued. “And — fingers crossed — allow us to come back in Season 8 to pick up with the results of that game and how it affects them moving forward.”
Who does KJ ask to be his girlfriend?

Lauryn Hardy as Tori and Nathaniel Logan McIntyre as KJ in ‘All American’.
There has been a love triangle between KJ, Amina and Tori (Lauryn Hardy), but in the season 7 finale, KJ asked his “constant cheerleader,” Tori, to be his girlfriend.
In an interview with Parade, Carroll said that KJ’s decision “doesn’t mean he doesn’t have feelings for Amina buried in there somewhere, whether he acknowledges them or anything beyond a best friendship or not.”
She revealed how even the show’s writers are “split on the different ships and who is rooting for who to be endgame. We were all united in our belief that Tori deserved this moment at the end of the season after everything she put on the line for KJ.”
Is there going to be All American season 8?
Troy Harvey/The CW
Michael Evans Behling as Jordan Baker in ‘All American’ season 7.
All American has not yet been renewed for season 8, but Carroll remains “optimistic.”
“I’m moving forward and planning as though we have one, because if I don’t, we won’t be ready in time when we get it,” she told Deadline.
“We have so many stories we still have yet to tell and have such an infusion of wonderful energy and pathways with this new generation,” she continued. “We’re excited to put pen to paper and fingers to keyboard and are keeping our fingers and toes crossed that we get another season to do that.”
