Alicia Keys’s look is on fire at the 2025 Met Gala.
The singer, 44, showed up in style, wearing a red pinstripe suit and a matching beaded headpiece, designed by Moncler with Vogue editor Edward Enninful. The suit consisted of a double-breasted suit and matching wide-leg trousers worn over a bustier, plus a contrasting “Moncler-coded oversized down scarf) in a navy-and-red stripe.
Keys paired the bold look with a matching puffy shawl and black platform boots. For her glam, she slicked her hair back, so it wouldn’t distract from the dangling headpiece. She kept her makeup light with a glossy lip and dramatic lashes.

Keys walked the carpet with husband Swizz Beatz, whom she married in 2010. His suit, also Custom Moncler x EE72, echoed the same colors as her stole.
The rapper also opted for a red durag by Paul Richards and oversized black shades. He accessorized with a black tie and silver brooch.

In October 2024, Vogue shared details on the 2025 Met Gala, announcing that Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour would be co-chairs for the event, alongside LeBron James as honorary chair. The gala, which is held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on the first Monday in May, is a fundraiser for The Costume Institute and spotlights the museum’s spring 2025 exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” the theme for the gala.
Curator in Charge Andrew Bolton said that the exhibit, which is inspired by guest curator Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, explores “the Black dandy as both a concept and an identity signifier.”

The exhibit “presents a cultural and historical examination of Black style from the 18th century to the present through an exploration of the concept of dandyism,” according to a post on the museum’s Instagram.
The Met Gala’s dress code for this year is “Tailored for You,” a nod to the exhibition’s focus on menswear and suiting. This year’s event also has a star-studded host committee that includes Simone Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens, Doechii, Regina King, Spike Lee, Usher and Angel Reese.

Keys last attended the Met Gala in 2022, when the theme was “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” and focused on “gilded glamour.” Keys arrived in a glittery, iridescent fitted silver dress by Ralph Lauren, featuring a strapless straight neckline and a skirt that fell past her feet. The main event, however, was the cape: her black cape covered in the skyline of New York City. In iridescent crystals, notable landmarks like the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center were etched into the design — thought to be a nod to her ever-popular hit “New York State of Mind.” The top of the cape gathered to give Keys’ ensemble a high-neck look.

She accessorized with a simple bracelet and drop earrings. Unlike most of her public appearances, Keys wore simple makeup — thin winged liner and glittery eyeshadow.
The year prior — with the counterpart theme, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” — Keys arrived in an all-white dress with a sheer button-down blouse top and a voluminous, tiered tulle skirt. She wore a matching white face mask — on top of a bright red lip — and accessorized with a thick crystal choker and gemstones in her slicked-back hair.

Beatz, attended alongside her, wearing an all-black suit with a waist tie, a black face mask and a silver floral brooch on his left shoulder.
In 2019, Keys was a vision in shimmery, light aquamarine. The Carolina Herrera sheath dress, comprised of thin tulle layers with turquoise sequins sewn into them, featured a deep-V neckline and fell just past her feet, and the accompanying cape cascaded behind her. Matching fabric draped over her head like a hood, and she paired the look with a handful of silver rings and a diamond necklace. Keys kept her glam simple
Again, Beatz attended the event — themed “Camp: Notes on Fashion” — with her, wearing simple black pants and shoes, a white shirt and a rich green velvet jacket. He topped the look off with a black bowtie.

Four years prior, Keys attended the 2015 Met Gala, wearing a Jean Paul Gaultier gown. Layers of long, white tulle brought volume to the dress’s skirt, and came together with the menswear-inspired cropped navy jacket and matching navy bralette underneath. Keys sported dark blue eye shadow and short blue earrings to complete the look.
Gaultier, who posed with her, wore an all-black ensemble, offset by a white button-up shirt and a leather jacket.
