Alicia Keys knows that beauty isn’t just skin deep.
The musician and Keys Soulcare founder, 44, teamed up The Skin Deep as part of the YouTube channel’s first-ever content series collaboration with a beauty brand. Across three episodes, a lineup of inspiring guests engage in “honest, healing dialogues,” per a press release.
“Empowering people with the confidence to participate in the act of self-care, which I like to call soulcare, is a way for each of us to become more powerful, more possible,” Keys shared via the release. “This experience with The Skin Deep reminds us that we always glow stronger when we are caring for our whole selves, inner and outer.”
Lit by Keys Soulcare candles, the first episode features motivational podcaster Justin Frett and lifestyle blogger Darren Graham, who delve into their friendship, self-care and their influence on each other’s pursuit of connection. The second episode features creator Kiana Leroux and her 5-year-old daughter Soleil and in the third and final episode, Keys chats with her stepson Nasir Dean in honor of Mother’s Day.
Following her session with Dean, Keys noted, “I was blown away by what took place in this space. These questions opened up a whole new vibration between us. Reminded me of what is possible when you are fully in the moment and hearing each other. We had so much fun.”
Nas added, “This took my love of Umi to a whole new level.”
Keys and husband Swizz Beatz have spoken openly about their blended family. The producer and the “Empire State of Mind” singer — who tied the knot in 2010 — share two children, Egypt Daoud and Genesis Ali, along with Beatz’s three children from previous relationships, Prince Nasir, Kasseem Jr. and Nicole.
“I feel like the family is such a beautiful and diverse unit and — as we’ve all experienced — our families come in all different sizes and shapes and versions,” Keys explained in a 2016 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she was promoting her song “Blended Family (What You Do For Love).”

The musician launched Keys Soulcare in 2020. At the time, she told PEOPLE that “issues” with her skin inspired the idea for the brand, but it became so much more.
“But little did I know that so much of what we consider beautiful comes from how we feel on the inside,” Keys shared. “And that is something that I’ve learned and now honor so much. We’re always so focused on the outer just because it’s a very physical world. But how does one actually find their way to their soul and to caring for their soul? And that’s what led me to this idea of soulcare.”
