He attributed the show’s hiatus to the aftermath of a significant merger between WarnerMedia and Discovery, Inc., explaining that the network is still organizing its programming.
The reality star noted that while some shows have indeedbeen canceled, Alaskan Bush People is merely on hold and not permanently off the air.

“So, some shows have been canceled, and some shows have been put on the back burner. ‘Alaskan Bush People’ has been put on the back burner. And it is not technically canceled,” he explained.

Billy’s wife, Amora “Ami” Brown, reportedly used language suggesting that the reality show had ended in her April 2024 testimony.
“Testimony acknowledging that the show Alaskan Bush People ultimately had 14 seasons, with the last season being filmed in 2022,” the court documents read, according to the outlet.
Amora was listed among the defendants in the lawsuit, which references “Alaskan Bush People” predominantly in the past tense, suggesting a definitive conclusion to the show’s relevance.

‘Alaskan Bush People’ Was Absent On Discovery Channel’s Media Page
Using past tense, the lawsuit highlighted the substantial profits generated by Alaskan Wilderness Family Productions. The words read:
“These breaches occurred despite the significant profits generated by [Alaskan Wilderness Family Productions], particularly through the television series ‘Alaskan Bush People,’ which was featured on the Discovery Channel network.”
However, the show is notably absent from the Discovery Channel’s media page, which lists other programs like “Naked and Afraid” and “Gold Rush” as current properties.
Furthermore, since September 2022, the network has not provided any updates regarding “Alaskan Bush People,” further implying its status as a concluded series.
