At 90s Con in Connecticut, Tori Spelling reunited with some of her Beverly Hills, 90210 costars
There, she admitted that she found it “hard to watch myself when I was young,” but has enjoyed rewatching the series now through the lens of her podcast
She and costar Jennie Garth also shared some fond memories from set
Tori Spelling has learned to love Donna Martin.
Beverly Hills, 90210 cast members Brian Austin Green, Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Ian Ziering, Jason Priestley and Gabrielle Carteris reunited for a panel at 90s Con, moderated by PEOPLE’s Breanne L. Heldman, at the Connecticut Convention Center earlier this spring.
While discussing looking back at the show on her rewatch podcast with Garth, 90210MG, Spelling admitted, “It was hard to watch myself when I was young.”
“I think it was just a confidence thing. So now I’m finally able to watch it as if — we watch this as fan girls. It’s as if we’re not a part of it and we’re just watching it and enjoying it,” the 51-year-old continued.
“Now I’m like, ‘Gosh, I really like Donna Martin. I would have been friends with her.’ “

Garth, 53, was then asked about her experience, to which she said of Donna Martin, “I was friends with her.”
As the audience cooed at the sweet moment between the longtime friends and costars, Garth, who played Kelly Taylor, continued, “I think that it’s been really interesting to rewatch it from the very beginning, because if you don’t know, we were always busy working, and we never really sat down and watched an entire episode.”
“When we were filming, we only really saw our roles like what our scenes were, we didn’t know what was going on, on the show as a whole. So now to watch it back, it’s totally in sync.”
“It’s been really interesting to watch ourselves as young girls and you see the incredible journey that we had both made as women now, watching it back,” Garth added.
“I look at it so differently, and I think we’re both just proud of it, and proud of everybody that’s up here, and so happy to be a part of it.”
Elsewhere in the panel, Ziering admitted that the same schedule that wouldn’t allow them to see each other’s scenes also meant that castmates would miss out on meeting guests who appeared on the show.
“Because we all had different story lines, we would have guests on that nobody else worked with,” he explained. “So, all of a sudden, you get to set, it was, like, ‘Oh yeah, you know, Burt Reynolds was here yesterday,’ and you’re like ‘What?’ And it’s like, ‘Oh yeah, he wasn’t in your scene,’ and then you see pictures.”
