Adam Sandler has the unique ability to make golf interesting. Happy Gilmore 2, a sequel to his 1996 hit comedy, was released today on Netflix. The film brought the return of Sandler to the titular role, and boasted an even more star-studded cast than the original.
In the film, Happy returns to golf to pay for his daughter’s ballet class tuition. Julie Bowen returned as his wife Virginia; Christopher McDonald returned to play Happy’s nemesis Shooter McGavin; Dennis Gougan returned as Doug Thompson, the commissioner of the golf tour; and Ben Stiller returned as Hal L.
The sequel introduced a new host of characters, including Sandler’s daughter Sunny as Happy’s daughter Vienna; Bad Bunny as Sandler’s caddy Oscar; and Ethan Cutkosky, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Philip Fine Schneider and Conor Sherry as Happy’s sons; Wayne, Gordie, Bobby, and Terry Gilmore. Benny Safdie, Kym Whitley, Lavell Crawford, and Blake Clark also joined the cast.
To add to an already stacked cast list, Sandler brought on dozens of golfers, actors, and celebrities to make cameos in the film – 48 in total. Here’s who to look out for in the film this weekend.
