While most major awards shows try to keep the opening number under wraps as a big surprise, the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards is taking a completely different approach.
The ACMs announced that the show, set for May 8, will kick off with a 12-minute “Songs of the Decades” performance featuring ACM Songs of the Year performed by the all-star cast of Clint Black, Dan + Shay, Wynonna Judd, Reba McEntire, LeAnn Rimes,and Sugarland. McEntire is also hosting the show.

Fans greeted the announcement on Instagram with positive reactions.
“Love this! So glad to see Reba in this … I was afraid she wouldn’t be performing .. just hosting… this makes my day. And Sugarland ? Oh that’s good too. Great group of artists in this pic !!! 🙌🔥❤️,” one wrote.
Another added, “ALL are winners in this group! Love Sugarland though! ❤️👏❤️”
Yet another simply wrote, “This is gonna be good 🔥”
The 60th ACMS will stream live exclusively on Prime Video from Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas on May 8 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
A number of duet performances will also be featured, including Backstreet Boys and Rascal Flatts; Jelly Roll and Shaboozey; and Brooks & Dunn with Cody Johnson.
Other performers will include 2024 ACM New Female Artist of the Year, Megan Moroney, Alan Jackson, Chris Stapleton, Blake Shelton, Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson, and Miranda Lambert, as well as New Artist of the Year winners Ella Langley and Zach Top.
