‘AbFab’ Legend Joanna Lumley, 78, Stuns on the Red Carpet originally appeared on Parade.
Joanna Lumley is heading back to television, and we are ready for it.
The Absolutely Fabulous alum, 78, hit the red (okay, purple) carpet for the season 2 premiere of Netflix’s Wednesday at Central Hall Westminster in London on Wednesday, and showed the stunning vibe she’ll bring to the beloved show’s new season. Starring as Grandmama Hester Frump in the show, which features Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Lumley stunned as she worked it for the cameras at the premiere alongside famous faces, including Tim Burton and Steve Buscemi.
Dressed entirely in black, the blonde legend capped off her regal look with a black coat encrusted with shimmering stones in a floral formation.

In a revealing new interview, Lumley revealed that she didn’t get into the entertainment business to pursue stardom. She simply loved acting.
“I’ve had no career – I was trying to earn money to keep myself alive. I’ve never had any idea of a destiny or where my career would go and I have never ever asked myself, “Will this damage my career?” I loved acting, so that was going to be my chosen thing,” Lumley explained to the Radio Times.
Originally a model, Lumley soon found herself stuck in roles as the “pretty girlfriend.” Eventually, she began to land roles that allowed her to show her immense talent.
“We actors just wanted to get to be better actors, and we wanted to work so we could pay the rent. We weren’t longing for stardom. We’re jobbing actors and we’re no different, really, from painters and decorators,” she noted. “It’s a precarious profession at the best of times and I’ve just done anything to keep my head above water.”
