A$AP Rocky opened up to reporters on the red carpet at the 2025 Met Gala about announcing baby No. 3 with partner Rihanna

The rapper, 36, who is a co-chair of the 2025 Met Gala, opened up to reporters on the red carpet in New York City on Monday, May 5, about announcing baby No. 3 with partner Rihanna. He teased that the news was a long time coming.
Rihanna revealed her pregnancy ahead of the major fashion event when her photographer Miles Diggs posted a photo of her in the rain with her baby bump on full display.
When congratulated on the news, the Associated Press reported that Rocky said, “It feels amazing, you know. It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up.”
The Grammy nominee continued to highlight his happiness over the public’s supportive reaction. “And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us ‘cause we definitely happy, you know,” he said.

Rocky added, “Honestly, it’s a blessing nonetheless. Because you know how like some people in other situations at times can be envious of other people. But we’ve been seeing love for the most part. And we real receptive to that and appreciate that, you know what I mean?”
He ended his comments with a simple: “That’s love. Love is love.”
Rocky arrived at the event in a long black jacket with large lapels and a gem-studded umbrella. According to Vogue, the rapper wore a custom look from his creative agency, AWGE. He paired his wool outerwear with a crisp white buttoned shirt, black wool trousers and a black vest.
Rocky accessorized with a black necktie and black Oxford shoes. Vogue reported that the shoes were made in collaboration between AWGE and Christian Louboutin. He also wore silver jewelry – a necklace, earrings and a dramatic brooch – by Bulgari.

The theme for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual benefit was “Tailored for You,” revolving around the museum’s spring exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” Rocky served as co-chair for the event, along with Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams and Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour. LeBron James was an honorary chair but could not attend due to a knee injury sustained during his NBA season.
Rocky opened up about his fatherhood journey ahead of the gala in an episode of The Run-Through with Vogue. “Being a father is my creative process now because I just embodied it as a whole,” he said. “I never really had a role model or just an iconic figure, … and I guess I’m that for people, and I didn’t purposely try to do that, but I take it as a badge of honor. I’m so flattered and, you know, just being me that it can inspire people to actually do something that is considered good being a present active father.”
“I love that s—. For me, my dad was a proud dad. He taught me everything I know, especially how to be a gentleman and whatnot, so I was prepared to be a dad my whole life, man, you know?” the rapper added. “I’m ready, and I’m 36 going on 37, man. These clothes suit me well.”

Rocky shares two children, sons Riot, 21 months, and RZA, 2, with Rihanna.
The “SOS” singer, who revealed her second pregnancy during her Super Bowl 2023 Halftime Show, revealed in an April 2024 conversation with Interview Magazine that she was open to more kids.
“As many as God wants me to have,” the Fenty Beauty founder said when asked. As for if the number is more than two, she said, “I don’t know what God wants, but I would go for more than two.”
“I would try for my girl. But of course, if it’s another boy, it’s another boy,” the singer teased.
