While promoting his new Spike Lee film Highest 2 Lowest, A$AP Rocky’s rate of success with his looks has certainly been on the high end. Now, it seems he may be taking a few fashion cues from his partner, Rihanna.
The rapper’s style streak continued Wednesday night at the L.A. premiere of his new crime thriller, where the Grammy nominee sported a dapper fit that stemmed from his own brand, AWGE.
His dressy look was centered around a sleek charcoal suit, which consisted of a tapered, single-breasted blazer with notch lapels, as well as matching wide-leg slacks that pooled around his feet. The pants even seemed to feature some purposeful wrinkles, a trend that we’ve seen more of, on and off the red carpet as of late.
For the rest of his ensemble, Rocky layered the blazer over a taupe dress shirt, and he accessorized with a skinny black belt with silver hardware, while slipping into black patent leather loafers. However, it was his tie that really served as the perfect touch.
The “Highjack” singer livened up his ensemble by layering on a steel-blue necktie with large white polka dots, which he attached with a diamond-encrusted AWGE tie clip. Not only did he use the accessory to shout out his label, but it also acted as a wink to his partner, Rihanna, who seemingly wore the exact same tie back in July with a baby bump-baring ensemble.
The pop superstar styled the dotted ERL tie with a navy-blue suit styled with the blazer left hanging open to reveal nothing underneath but a transparent blue Savage x Fenty bra.
RiRi has been making waves with her showstopping maternity looks, and her walks to Giorgio Baldi have provided us with endless fashion inspiration this summer.
In the past, Rocky and Rihanna have coordinated their outfits on numerous occasions, and Rihanna even told Interview magazine that Rocky is one of the most fashionable people she knows. “Isn’t he the best? I be feeling bummy as shit next to this man,” she told interviewer Mel Ottenberg. “I feel like, goddamn, I look like his assistant. I’m getting on a plane. We should be in sweats. He wants to be in a full Bottega suit. I’m like, ‘Why you got to do that to me?’”
Clearly, Rocky takes inspiration from Rihanna too.
