Fans of the Netflix hit series The Hunting Wives might be interested to hear that a casting call for a reality show inspired by the series is taking over Instagram.
The advertisement, which was posted on Aug. 13, shares that a “major streaming service” is looking to cast “a close-knit circle of Southern friends navigating faith, friendship, and life’s untold chapters for a major docuseries.” Noting that it’s a partnership with Spoke Studios and Aint That Something Entertainment, the photo pictures two women in matching red dresses standing next to each other, pulling from the picture-perfect aesthetic of the popular series that reveals trouble is lying below the surface.
Encouraging followers to “TAG A FRIEND WHO BELONGS IN THIS,” it also adds a variety of hashtags, including “southern women,” “southern bell,” “jesus,” “southern,” and “the south.”

Based on the novel by May Cobb, The Hunting Wives stars Malin Akerman as Margo, a Texan queen bee with major skeletons in her closet who lives in a small, wealthy town in Texas. Brittany Snow plays Sophie, a Massachusetts transplant who feels like a fish out of water in the conservative enclave, who befriends Akerman and gets sucked into her life of chaos, cocktails, and mysterious deaths.
Showrunner Rebecca Cutterpreviously shared that she instantly loved the sex, lies, and loaded guns that permeate the series.
“When I first read the novel, I was in awe of its flagrant horniness and glorification of bad behavior,” said Cutter. “There was something so free about it! My goal was to keep all that juice, but to ground it in a recognizable portrayal of Texas today, without shying away from the elephant in the room – politics.”
