Lady Gaga is one award away from achieving EGOT status.
The “Perfect Celebrity” singer took home a Sports Emmy on Tuesday, May 20, for Outstanding Music Direction for her pre-taped performance at the 2025 Super Bowl along with fellow producers Seth Dudowsky, Bill Richards, Joel Santos, Jesse Weiss and Brad Zager, as well as music editor Joe Nargi.
Gaga, 39, sang “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick on New Orleans’ Bourbon Street to honor those affected by the New Orleans terror attack in January along with the Los Angeles wildfires.
She was joined by NFL legends Tom Brady, Michael Strahan and Terry Bradshaw, along with first responders.

“This year began with a terror attack that tried to shatter its spirit. But the resilience of New Orleans is matched by the resolve of our country,” Strahan, 53, said ahead of Gaga’s performance
“When tragedy strikes, we don’t break, we come together,” Brady, 47, added.
Also nominated for the Outstanding Music Direction Sports Emmy was Evolution of the Black Quarterback on Prime Video, The Lionheart from HBO Max, Noche UFC: For Mexico, For All Time on ESPN+ and Netflix’s The Turnaround.

This Emmy Award inches Gaga to being one award away from achieving the prestigious EGOT status in which someone is awarded an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. Only 26 people have done it in the past, including Elton John, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jennifer Hudson and John Legend.
Gaga has 14 Grammy Awards to her name, including awards for Album of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Female Pop Performance and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.

In 2019, she, along with co-writers Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt, won the Best Original Song Oscar for “Shallow” in A Star Is Born. Upon accepting the award, she thanked Bradley Cooper, who costarred with her in the film and sang the duet with her.
“Bradley, there is not a single person on the planet that could’ve sung this song with me but you,” she said. “Thank you for believing in us, thank you so much.”

All that’s left for the multi-hyphenate to achieve is a Tony Award.
Up next for Gaga is her Mayhem Ball Tour, kicking off in July in Las Vegas and making stops in Seattle, New York, Miami, Toronto and Chicago before going international.
