In case you hadn’t heard, bras are not just for support anymore. Seen on It girls from Doechii to Kristen Stewart, the undergarment is becoming a fashion statement, and Jessica Biel is the latest star to try on the trend.
On Tuesday night, the actor stepped out in New York City for the premiere of her new show, The Better Sister, where she graced the red carpet in an all-black set—and treated her bra as a top.
Biel’s look consisted of a long, single-breasted coat with an added layer that hung behind her like coattails, and she paired it with oversize slacks that pooled over the top of her pointy heels. It was a classic look, save for the fact that the actor left her coat hanging open to reveal a black triangle bra underneath, and nothing else.
To accessorize her ab-baring fit, the Emmy-nominated star carried a geometric black handbag from Michael Kors, slipped on a chunky black ring, and added a touch of dazzle with a pair of sparkly silver statement earrings that hung from her ears like icicles.
It’s not just bras that have been popping up all over the place, though, it’s underwear in general. For the past few years, Miu Miu has been sending models down the runway in bedazzled briefs, while brands like Saint Laurent have been embracing transparent silhouettes. At the Met Gala, one of the biggest trends was going completely pantsless.
Now, Biel has just proven that flashing your underwear can red carpet-worthy.
