Taylor Frankie Paul’s parents have made a splash on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
The reality TV star has opened up about her life on the hit Hulu series, and that’s included introducing her family. Taylor has explained that her mom, Liann May, raised her with her husband, Jeremy May, so she considers him her father. Meanwhile, her biological dad, who she has not named, was not a part of her childhood and has since died.
“I think my trust issues stem from my biological father leaving me at a young age,” Taylor said during an emotional episode while talking about her on-again, off-again relationship with Dakota Mortensen.
Taylor’s dynamic with Liann and Jeremy was on full display during a tumultuous dinner with Dakota, where they discussed Taylor’s decision to end their relationship after learning of his alleged infidelity. However, Liann has defended their mother-daughter relationship.
“I never want you to feel like you are trash because you’re a daughter of God,” Liann told her daughter during an emotional conversation. “You ended up pulling yourself out of that darkness, and I think that’s exciting. That’s something that you should be proud of.”
Taylor has also expressed her unconditional love for her mom and shared her excitement when her mom got her “whole face done” with cosmetic procedures.
“So my mom wanted to get a nose job and then got her whole face done,” she said while laughing. “When I saw her post-surgery, I was like, ‘Mom what did you do?’ She looked like she got hit by a bus. But she’s healing well, and if she feels great, great.”
Here’s everything to know about Taylor Frankie Paul’s parents, Liann and Jeremy May.

Taylor’s mom, Liann, raised her with her stepfather, Jeremy, since she was 2 years old.
“I had a stepdad growing up, but I always called him dad, because he adopted me at 2, and he’s been the father throughout my life, so he’s my dad,” Taylor said during a season 2 episode of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Liann and Jeremy also live near Taylor in Utah, so they have a close relationship and frequently spend time together. The couple also help watch their daughter’s three children: Indy, Ocean and Ever.

Taylor has not spoken at length about her biological dad, but she previously shared that before he died, they did not have a relationship. At one point during season 2, Taylor got emotional while reflecting on the one time they met and how his lack of involvement in her life affected her.
“I met my dad once,” she said during an emotional confessional. “My mom took me to a restaurant. I don’t know how old I was, 4 maybe, and he sees me, and he’s like ‘What’s up kid!’ And that’s literally like all he says to me, and I remembered like turning around and going back to my booth.”
Taylor explained that she “never heard from my dad after that day,” and that interaction “stuck with me more than I ever thought.”
“When you feel like your dad does not love you, and that’s the only words he has to say to you, I think there’s just a wound there that’s been there for a very long time that I’ve never addressed, and that’s why I’m probably fixating on s—,” she said through tears.
Despite never having a relationship with her biological dad, Taylor posted a TikTok in 2024 of her going through photos of him after his death and noticed how much he resembled her youngest son, Ever.
“It’s uncanny,” she said in the video. “I found this, and I was like, ‘It looks like my baby!’ Did he come again to maybe hang out with me this time?”

The family of five are close and often spend time together both on and off the show. Aspen has followed in her older sister’s footsteps and has a significant following on TikTok where she posts videos of her spending time with her nieces and nephews, dancing and participating in trends.
Meanwhile, Hunter has appeared on the hit Hulu show. All five family members frequently post photos of them hanging out together and express their love for each other on social media.

Taylor’s relationship with both of her parents faced scrutiny from fans during an intense conversation on the second season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
During one family barbecue, they invited Taylor’s on-again, off-again boyfriend, Dakota, to discuss their fractured relationship. Taylor explained that she had recently received confirmation that Dakota was still seeing another girl at the beginning of their relationship, so she needed a break to analyze her feelings. However, both Jeremy and Liann came to Dakota’s defense and criticized their daughter for having sex with him after a few dates.
“Here’s the thing, and I’m just going to be blunt honest. He’s here telling me you only saw each other three times before all of this, and you’re sitting here telling me that he came over and had sex with you. What does that say about you? I’m not pointing fingers, but,” Jeremy said, to which Taylor cried and replied that she “was trash.”
Meanwhile, Liann disagreed and said that her daughter was “not trash,” but she also suggested that Taylor should give Dakota “some grace.” The emotional conversation took a toll on Taylor, and she later cried while reflecting on the heated moment.
“I guess what I’m hearing is, ‘You deserved what you got, because you gave it up so easily,’ ” she said while wiping away tears in a confessional. “That’s what I hear. And when you hear your parents say that, like, ‘Why were you expecting to be respected,’ it hurts. It just confirms my insecurities and my beliefs about myself.”
However, Taylor later explained that even though she and her parents may disagree on certain topics, they’re still a family and she’s “grateful for them.”
“My family and I don’t always see eye-to-eye, like, at the barbecue for example, but at the same time, they’ve helped me a lot with Ever and the other kids during this turmoil with Dakota, so I am so grateful for them,” she said in another confessional.

Shortly after the second season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was released, Liann came to her and Jeremy’s defense after fans began to question their intentions during the heated family barbecue.
“For all the ignorant people coming to my page, with all the dm’s . Get your facts straight. I ❤️ Tay & my other kids more than life itself,” she wrote in an Instagram post on May 18.
She added, “I want them to have BETTER lives than I could ever have. Yes,I hold my kids to a higher standard & would like them to be accountable with the decisions they make, especially Tay bcuz she has kids. U saw a 3 minute convo without all the facts.”
Liann continued, “My kids will always become before anyone. My husband and I say it like it is. Good & bad. Truth to the fault. We ‘ve always praised them with all their achievements.”
Taylor also showed her support to her mom by commenting under the post, “I love you. Best mom. You don’t need to defend yourself. Everyone around you knows you and that’s all that matters.”
