A big-time country star from the 1990s is still going strong, performing in front of a sold-out crowd at Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium and Museum over the weekend.

On Sunday, May 18, Tracy Lawrence took the stage at Ryman, which was the home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 to 1974. The Grammy-nominated singer is best known for his No. 1 hit songs “Sticks and Stones,” “Abibis,” “Can’t Break It To My Heart,” “My Second Home,” “If the Good Die Young,” “Texas Tornado,” “Time Marches On” and “Find Out Who Your Friends Are.”

The concert is part of Lawrence’s current tour in conjunction with his just-released Out Here In It EP.

The Ryman Auditorium’s website for Lawrence’s performance reads:

“Over three decades into his decorated career, Lawrence’s legacy continues to evolve. Recently wrapping Riley Green’s Ain’t My Last Rodeo Tour on top of his first-ever headlining show at the Ryman, he is poised for a monumental year ahead. After revisiting his catalog with the Hindsight 2020 Vol 1, 2 and 3 and Live at Billy Bob’s Texas albums, Lawrence just released his Out Here In It EP, available everywhere now.

“Meanwhile, Lawrence continues to uphold his commitment to helping those in need across Middle Tennessee and beyond with his Mission: Possible non-profit committed to serving the homeless. From its humble beginnings cooking Thanksgiving dinners for the Nashville Rescue Mission to frying over 10K turkeys to date, the organization has raised more than $1M for those in need. In recognition of his philanthropic efforts, Lawrence was honored with the 2023 CRS Humanitarian Award.”

Lawrence’s next stop is on May 23 in El Dorado, Arkansas. His shows run through November 7, crisscrossing the United States from Oregon to Louisiana, from California to Wisconsin. Tickets are on sale now.

The 57-year-old singer burst onto the scene in the early 1990s, when he earned the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Male Vocalist award in 1993. He was nominated five more times, winning Vocal Event of the Year for “Find Out Who Your Friends Are” in 2008.
