  • A variety of low-fat yogurt parfaits sold nationwide are being recalled over concerns of “life-threatening” allergic reactions.

  • The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) shared information on the exact products affected by the recall.

  • Here’s a list of impacted products.

The latest food recall affects refrigerators nationwide. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a recall this week for a variety of Bonya’s prepared yogurt parfaits. While the recall has yet to be categorized, the FDA describes the case as potentially “serious or life-threatening” for certain individuals.

An exact number of units affected by the recall has not been provided, but the FDA shares that the products, by Knockroe Inc., were distributed in retail stores nationwide. The affected yogurt parfaits may contain undisclosed almonds, specifically in the granola section. “People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds risk serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products,” according to the FDA.

Thankfully, no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported as of press time. The FDA revealed that following an investigation, the error was made by a “temporary breakdown in the company’s production and packaging processes,” causing almond-containing products to be distributed in the incorrect packages.

The Bonya yogurt parfaits included in the recall come in a 12-ounce, clear plastic cup with an expiration date of May 5th, 2025. The included variations are: Vanilla Low-Fat Parfait, Strawberry Low-Fat Parfait, Raspberry Low-Fat Parfait, Peach Low-Fat Parfait, Mango Low-Fat Parfait, and Blueberry Low-Fat Parfait.

Consumers who have purchased the affected product (especially those with an allergy or sensitivity to tree nuts) should not consume it, per the FDA. Anyone in possession of Bonya-branded yogurt parfaits is being asked to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

If you have any additional questions or concerns may contact the company at 914-313-6905.
