Georgina Chapman once considered pursuing an acting career, but she’ll leave the dramatic arts to her love of 5 years, Adrien Brody.
“It is a little daunting when you have an Oscar winner, a double Oscar winner as a partner,” Chapman, 49, referred to Brody, 52, while exclusively speaking to Us Weekly at the Family Equity Gala in New York City on Monday, May 12. “I could never quite live up to that standard.”
Chapman shared that she thought about acting “a long time ago.” Instead of pursuing a path in TV and film, the designer found success with her celeb-beloved brand Marchesa, which she founded in 2004.
“I don’t know if anyone else would want to see me act,” she said.

However, if she did want to make a change, Chapman could see Brody being supportive of her dreams.
Chapman and Brody started dating in 2020, three years after her split from disgraced film mogul Harvey Weinstein. The exes share daughter India, 15, and son Dashiell, 13.
After making their debut as a couple in at the June 2021 premiere of Brody’s film Clean, the pair have attended multiple functions together including awards shows, Met Galas and more.
Earlier this year, Brody won multiple awards for his role in The Brutalist including a Golden Globe and an Oscar. During his Golden Globes speech, Brody thanked Chapman for her support.
“To my beautiful and amazing partner, Georgina. Your generosity of spirit, your own resilience, your immense creativity is a daily reminder of how to be,” he said during the February awards show. “I would not be standing here before you if it wasn’t for you. There was a time not too long ago where I thought this might not be afforded to me again, so thank you.”

The following month, Brody took home his second Academy Award for Best Actor (He won his first in 2003 for The Pianist.)
During the ceremony, Chapman was by Brody’s side and cheered him on when he accepted the accolade. In his speech, Brody not only shared that Chapman “reinvigorated my own self worth but also my values and our values” — he also gave a shout-out to “her beautiful children” and thanked them for accepting him into their lives. Brody revealed that they refer to him as “Popsy.”
After awards season came to an end, Brody and Chapman enjoyed a night out at the Time 100 gala in New York City in April. The couple were all smiles as they donned coordinating black and white outfits.
