Iggy Pop, Jack White and the Sex Pistols have been announced as headliners of this year’s CBGB festival, set for Sept. 27 at Under the K Bridge Park in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Named after the legendary New York nightspot frequented by punk legends the Ramones, Blondie, Television and the Talking Heads in the late ‘70s, the festival will feature 21 bands across three stages.

Iggy Pop, who celebrated his 78th birthday in April, is making his first New York appearance in more than 10 years at the festival.

The Sex Pistols feature original members guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock with singer Frank Carter filling in for John Lydon, who had a falling out with the other members of the band over the 2022 Pistol TV miniseries.

Other acts on the bill include fellow original British punk band The Damned, Marky Ramone, former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, and Los Angeles-based all-female punk upstarts the Linda Lindas and more.

CBGB was founded in 1973 by Hilly Kristal. The festival aims to connect the club’s ties with the origin of punk rock with the current bands keeping the genre alive.

Under the K Bridge was chosen as the site of the festival because of its “industrial grit and cultural relevance,” according to a statement released by CBGB. Along with the live music, the festival will include local food and merch stands as well as immersive CBGB installations, including the bar and stage from the original club.
