“The Irrational” has been canceled at NBC after two seasons, Variety has learned.

The police procedural series originally debut on NBC in 2023. Jesse L. Martin leads the cast, which also includes Maahra Hill, Travina Springer, Molly Kunz, and Arash DeMaxi. The show is based on the book “Predictably Irrational” by Dan Ariely.

Per the official description, the show “follows world-renowned professor of behavioral science Alec Mercer (Martin) as he lends his unique expertise on an array of high-stakes cases involving governments, law enforcement and corporations. His insight and unconventional approach to understanding human behavior lead him and the team on a series of intense, unexpected journeys to solve illogical puzzles and perplexing mysteries.”

Arika Lisanne Mittman, Mark Goffman, Sam Baum and David Frankel executive produce. Universal Television is the studio.

“The Irrational” had started off well in the ratings in its first season, but saw double digit declines in its second. NBC also had a large number of bubble shows this year, as the broadcaster will be taking on primetime NBA programming next season.

NBC had previously renewed shows like “Law & Order” as well as “Law & Order: SVU” and all three of the “One Chicago” shows. Comedies “Happy’s Place” and “St. Denis Medical” were likewise renewed, while both “Night Court” and “Lopez vs. Lopez” were recently axed. Dramas “The Hunting Party,” “Suits LA”, “Found,” and “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” are still awaiting word on new seasons ahead of NBCUniversal’s upfront presentation on May 12 in New York.

Deadline first reported the cancellation.
