When Guns N’ Roses announced the departure of their longtime drummer Frank Ferrer in March, people had plenty of opinions about who should take his place. Now the band has played their very first show with new drummer Isaac Carpenter — and once again, loyal fans were quick to share their feelings about the lineup.
Led by iconic frontman Axl Rose, Guns N’ Roses kicked off their 2025 Because What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things Tour at Songdo Moonlight Festival Park in Incheon, South Korea, kicking off the concert with their classic hit, “Welcome to the Jungle” — the first time they opened a concert with the song since Slash and Duff McKagan re-joined the band in 2016, according to Rolling Stone.
In a video shared to YouTube, the audience screamed and sang along as the group played the chart-topping tune — and commenters all said the same thing about Carpenter’s performance.
“The new drummer is perfect!” one person gushed.
“That drummer is far better a vast improvement he’s brought the tempo back down, he has the laid back groove more akin to Steven Adler,” somebody pointed out, referring to the band’s first drummer.
“I was there too. New drummer was awesome!! axl was better than before I felt happy when they played together,” another commenter declared, with someone else agreeing, “They should have changed the drummer a decade ago.”
The Because What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things Tour is currently scheduled to wrap up on July 31 at the Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany, with remaining dates featuring appearances by Public Enemy, Rival Songs, and the Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter.
