Variety, Golden Globes and Bulova to Host Exclusive Cannes Film Festival Screening of ‘America Telling Time: 150 Years of Bulova’

Variety and the Golden Globes will partner with Bulova to host a special screening event during the Cannes Film Festival on May 18, presenting the brand’s milestone documentary film, “America Telling Time: 150 Years of Bulova.” The event, held in celebration of Bulova’s 150-year legacy, will spotlight the company’s profound impact on the art of watchmaking and its cultural significance in American and global history.

Following the screening, Variety’s International Features Editor Leo Barraclough will moderate an insightful Q&A panel featuring director Michael Culyba and Michael Benavente. The discussion will delve into the making of the film, the historical moments it captures and the vision that continues to propel Bulova forward.

The documentary, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Michael Culyba, offers an in-depth look at Bulova’s extraordinary journey. Through archival footage, expert insights, and untold stories, “America Telling Time” explores the milestones that have defined the brand, including its role in historical events, its contributions to American culture and its lasting legacy in horological innovation.

For a century and a half, Bulova has been more than a watchmaker. It has been a pioneering force, blending innovation, craftsmanship, and design to help shape the modern perception of time. From its early roots in New York City to its emergence as a global symbol of excellence, Bulova has continuously broken boundaries, marking moments in history and reflecting the ever-evolving spirit of innovation.
