Miley Cyrus stepped out in New York City on Tuesday, May 6, wearing a look very reminiscent of something Elizabeth Hurley wore at the Cannes Film Festival in 1997.
Cyrus, 32—whose father, Billy Ray Cyrus, is dating the British actress—rocked a strapless, form-fitting animal print dress. The “Flowers” singer even had a similar hairstyle to Hurley’s at the time, with wispy bangs and highlights.
Hurley, 59, is often regarded as a style icon, so it’s not entirely surprising that Cyrus would recreate one of her looks.
After all, Kylie Jenner did the same thing at the 2025 Golden Globes. While attending the star-studded affair with her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, the makeup mogul, 27, wore a vintage silver piece from the Atelier Versace spring 1999 collection.
It wasn’t confirmed, but Hurley wore almost the exact same gown to the CFDA Awards in 1999.
Of course, Cyrus has a bit more of a connection to the Gossip Girl alum. Hurley and Billy Ray, 63, hard launched their relationship via Instagram on Easter Sunday.

“They’ve been friends for a long time and both found themselves single at the same time,”a source told Page Six in late April. “The romantic side started only a few weeks ago.”
Before his romance with Hurley, Billy Ray was married three times—first to Cindy Smith, then Tish Cyrus, and finally, Australian singer Firerose.
The country singer has six children: Christopher Cody Cyrus, Brandi Cyrus, Trace Cyrus, Miley Cyrus, Braison Cyrus, and Noah Cyrus.
Billy Ray adopted Brandi and Trace while he was married to Tish, and his son Christopher is from a previous relationship with Kristin Luckey.
