There’s a new Ronaldo in town!
Cristiano Ronaldo’s oldest son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., has been called up to join Portugal’s under-15 youth squad for an upcoming youth tournament in Croatia.
Ronaldo, 40, shared the roster announcement in a post on his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, May 6, writing, “Proud of you, son!”
Ronaldo Jr., 14, is currently playing for Al-Nassr’s youth team in the Saudi Arabia professional league, where his father plays.
The teenager will join the Portugal team in a tournament later this month with games scheduled against Japan, Greece, and England, according to BBC.
Ronaldo Jr., born in 2010, has already played for several youth club teams where his dad has played at the professional level, including Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid.

Ronaldo, a former five-time Ballon d’Or winner as the best player in the world, has often celebrated his oldest son on social media, celebrating his milestones — from birthdays to career accomplishments like Tuesday’s announcement.
However, Ronaldo has maintained a level of privacy surrounding his son’s life, including never divulging the identity of Ronaldo Jr.’s mother.
“It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become father to a baby boy,” Portugal’s all-time goal scoring leader wrote on social media after his first son’s birth. “As agreed with the baby’s mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship. I request everyone to fully respect my right to privacy (and that of the child) at least on issues as personal as these are.”
Later in 2015, Ronaldo told Jonathan Ross that “some points in life are private and people have to respect the privacy.”
“When Cristiano is going to grow up, I am always going to say the truth to him because he deserves it, because he is my son,” Ronaldo said. “But I am not going to say [it just] because people want me to say.”

Ronaldo has five children in total, welcoming twins Eva Maria and Mateo Ronaldo via surrogate in June 2017 and daughter Alana Martina in November 2017 with girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez. Rodriguez and Ronaldo also welcomed daughter Bella in 2021.
The Portuguese soccer star often shares photos of his children on social media, including a family photo alongside Rodriguez last summer. “My life,” Ronaldo wrote, smiling in the photo with his arms around his children.
