Actor David Hasselhoff, 72, was photographed being assisted in a wheelchair at airports in Cancun, Mexico, and upon his return to Los Angeles on Monday. The images, exclusively obtained by the Daily Mail, depict the actor traveling weeks after the reported suicide of his former wife, Pamela Bach.

Hasselhoff was seen being wheeled through the airport terminals by airport personnel in both locations. Upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the actor was able to move out of the wheelchair and was observed exiting the airport with his wife, Hayley Roberts, 45. He appeared to lean on Roberts for support as they made their way through the terminal.

Dressed in a striped button-down shirt and a dark baseball cap, Hasselhoff acknowledged the photographers present, offering a smile, a thumbs-up gesture, and a wave. These gestures appeared to be an effort to project a positive demeanor despite the circumstances.

While Hasselhoff presented a seemingly upbeat facade to the cameras, a source described as close to the actor provided a more concerning perspective to the Daily Mail. “David is living on borrowed time and has lived hard,” the source reportedly stated. “He had a life that people could only dream of but he also spent decades self-medicating through alcohol and other substances, which he does regret.”

The photographs and the source’s comments offer a glimpse into Hasselhoff’s current state following a period of personal loss. Pamela Bach, 60, who was married to Hasselhoff from 1989 to 2006, was reported to have died by suicide. The couple had two daughters together, Taylor Ann Hasselhoff, 34, and Hayley Amber Hasselhoff, 32.

While the Daily Mail‘s source’s comments allude to a history of substance use, Hasselhoff’s representatives have not issued any official statement regarding his current health or the circumstances surrounding his use of a wheelchair during his recent travels. The actor’s public appearances have become less frequent in recent years, though he has occasionally taken on acting roles and made appearances at fan conventions.

The recent photographs and the accompanying report have drawn attention to Hasselhoff’s well-being during what is undoubtedly a difficult time following the loss of his ex-wife and the mother of his children. His reliance on a wheelchair and his need for support while navigating the airport raise questions about his current physical health.

Hasselhoff has spoken publicly in the past about his struggles with alcohol. In a 2015 interview with The Mirror he discussed his battles with addiction and the impact it had on his life and family.

“There’s a certain anonymity that’s supposed to come with helping yourself and it’s not my responsibility to explain to anybody where I’m at,” he said. “It is my responsibility to do the best I can and to take it one day at a time. But alcohol can become deadly. The scariest is when you go into a meeting and you’re like, ‘Where’s Steve?’ and they say, ‘Oh Steve died last night’.

“But you just met him yesterday! It’s a very scary, deadly thing that needs to be addressed,” Hasselhoff told the media outlet.

Without official confirmation from Hasselhoff or his representatives, the precise reasons for his use of a wheelchair remain unknown.
