K-Pop fans rallying behind Blackpink’s Lalisa “Lisa” Manobal after intense online speculation over her 2025 Met Gala outfit are vindicated.

The White Lotus actress showed up on the blue carpet for fashion’s biggest night on Monday wearing a black-lace jacket and bodysuit from Louis Vuitton with faces embroidered on it. The look caused a bit of confusion after several viewers questioned whether one of those faces, seen prominently near the singer’s groin area, was the visage of late civil-rights activist Rosa Parks.

But a representative for Henry Taylor, the artist who collaborated with Pharrell Williams on Lisa’s look, told Vulture that the speculation is wholly untrue. “The figure featured in Lisa’s Louis Vuitton look is not Rosa Parks, but one of Henry’s neighbors,” the rep said. “The faces seen on this look, as well as on previous LV garments featuring Taylor’s artwork, are all drawn from his personal life — family members, friends, and neighbors.”

They added, “These figures come directly from Henry’s existing artworks, which he provided to LVMH for Pharrell’s debut collection with Louis Vuitton in 2023.”

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to reps for Lisa, Williams, and Taylor, but did not immediately hear back.

Williams, who has served as the French luxury fashion house’s creative director for menswear since 2023, styled Lisa for Monday night’s gala. He also worked with Grammy winner Doechii, The Bear star Jeremy Allen White, and singer Sabrina Carpenter, on their looks for the night.

The “Espresso” singer’s look also stirred conversation online. Her Louis Vuitton outfit featured a structured burgundy jacket with a stiff white collar and dramatic suit tails, a matching bodysuit, sky-high heels, and — well, that’s it.

Carpenter told La La Anthony, one of the Vogue YouTube channel live stream hosts, that Williams factored in the singer’s petite stature when selecting her fit. The pair hatched their sartorial plan after Carpenter, who stands an even 5 feet when shoeless, attended one of Williams’ shows for Louis Vuitton

“He was like, ‘You’re quite short, so no pants for you,'” she told Anthony. “So here we are. Here we are.”

“Living on the edge tonight,” Carpenter joked when she almost tipped over onto Anthony thanks to the high heels that she described as “a staple for me in my life.”

Held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the first Monday in May annually, the Met Gala is a fundraiser for The Costume Institute. In addition to helping fund the Institute, the gala also serves as the kickoff to the museum’s spring exhibition.

Inspired by guest curator Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, this year’s attendees were encouraged to “explore concepts that define Black dandyism,” per a statement from Miller the Met shared in October.

“Fashion and dress have been used in a contest of power and aesthetics for Black people from the time of enslavement to the present, and dandyism has long served as a vehicle through which one can manipulate the relationship between clothing, identity, and power,” she wrote.
