It’s Usher baby, and he knows how to make a moment.
When it comes to the Met Gala, the R&B legend always delivers and this year, was no different. The Grammy-winning artist arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing a classic black three-piece suit, which he paired with a bowtie, a silver button closure chain, and a glittering brooch.
However, it was his addition of a white scarf styled tossed over his shoulders that sealed the deal. Not only did it look like the ideal cozy accessory to have while braving the New York City winds, but it also tapped into the traditional dandy aesthetic.
With his accessory, he managed to soften his refined suiting to create one cohesive presentation.
His date for the evening was his wife, Jennifer Goicoechea, who complemented his elegant style with a jumpsuit designed with a long black train that tied at her waist.
Up top, her ensemble featured a buttoned white blazer with an oversized rosette. Underneath, she had a white satin tie and blouse.
Reflecting on his 2024 Met Gala appearance, Usher set a high bar for red carpet fashion. Last year, he donned a custom Alexander McQueen ensemble designed by Seán McGirr, which masterfully combined dramatic elements with intricate detailing.
The outfit featured a striking black wool twill cape adorned with black dipped rose appliqués. Beneath the cape, he revealed a meticulously crafted black wool barathea tuxedo jacket and trousers, embellished with jet stone embroidery and red dipped rose appliqués, creating a mesmerizing visual contrast.
A black silk chiffon shirt, black leather boots, and a matching fedora completed the look, adding a touch of Old Hollywood glamour.
Usher’s 2024 ensemble also featured a show-stopping accessory: a $5 million Ruby Billionaire III watch by Jacob & Co. The timepiece, made from 18-carat white gold and encrusted with 714 rubies, added a vibrant pop of color.
