A South Carolina woman carried around a scratch-off lottery ticket for days before realizing she won
She and her husband plan to go on trips with the $200,00 prize money

A South Carolina woman took a scratch-off lottery ticket her husband bought and kept it in her purse for “several days” before learning it was worth $200,000.
After the woman rubbed off the top layer of the $5 Big Wins Extra Play ticket, revealing the game’s top prize, she said she wasn’t going to “fuss” anymore if he kept playing, the South Carolina Education Lottery said in a press release on Friday, May 2.
“It was great to win,” the woman told lottery officials.
Her husband purchased the winning ticket at a convenience store in Blythewood, which has earned the retailer a $2,000 commission. The anonymous couple plans on taking a couple of trips with their winnings, they told the lottery.

Meanwhile, when her husband plans to buy a lottery ticket, he’ll make sure to get two.
“He’ll buy us both one,” his wife told officials.
The odds of winning $200,000 are 1 in 780,000, and two top prizes currently remain, the South Carolina Education Lottery said.

The news comes almost a month after a man in California, who said he “can’t wait to get off the streets,” won a $1 million lottery prize.
On April 6, the manager of Sandy’s Deli-Liquor in San Luis Obispo sold the winning scratch-off ticket to the lucky winner, NBC affiliate KSBY-TV reported. According to store manager Wilson Samaan, the winner is a long-time customer who is also homeless.

“He came to the store, he scratched it and is like, ‘Oh, my god. Is that real?’ ” Wilson recalled.
Even after double-checking the win, Wilson said that the man was in shock to see just how much money he’d won. “He’s like, ‘$100,000,’ and I’m like, ‘No, bro. That’s $1 million. Congrats brother,’ ” the manager recalled.
