This year’s Oscar nominees are descending on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art! Including Monica Barbaro, who arrived at the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” Met Gala looking incredible in a black-and-white Dior look with a matching jaunty hat and Bulgari jewels.
Monica recently chatted about her personal confidence and style to Harper’s Bazaar UK, telling the outlet, “Confidence comes from within. I feel most confident when I’m accessing different modes of self-expression, which fashion can take part in for sure. Comfort in my own body is important too and to physically feel most confident in my clothes, I think well-tailored garments are key. It doesn’t matter my size, which fluctuates, only that the clothes fit me and my proportions. Everyone’s body is totally different, so being in touch with your own body and the way you like to feel in your clothes is so valuable, whether they’re sweatpants or slacks.”
She added, “I can’t believe how many incredible fashion moments I’ve gotten to have recently. I couldn’t possibly pick a most memorable one because it’s been an absolute whirlwind of gorgeous designs, and all so recent too.”
