Goldbelly’s First-Ever Star-Studded Collab Will Have You Saying ‘Yes, Chef!’

4 Min Read

Martha Stewart and José Andrés are a unique caliber of chef, where their culinary ability is outweighed by the sheer star power associated with their name alone. Sure, they can both throw down in the kitchen, but their respective talents far exceed the bounds of the kitchen’s brigade. Each one is a master of their craft, bringing elegance and poise to a profession often seen as frou-frou or hoity-toity. They don’t just cook, they create. Both have found ways to transcend the rigidity of the kitchen and have inspired generations of cooks to overcome adversity with grace and be stewards for good in the world.

In that respect, you couldn’t cast a more perfect duo to host NBC’s latest competition show, Yes, Chef! The premise is simple: Like any other cooking show, it’s a competition to win a sum of cash—$250,000 to be exact—and bragging rights as the winner. The catch, though, is that in addition to battling each other, the chefs are also battling themselves and overcoming their own inner demons along the way. It’s a cooking show with a message, and after tuning in for the first episode last week, we’re hooked!

To promote the new series, Martha and Jose teamed up with Goldbelly to launch a first-of-its-kind box that includes their signature recipes, and yours truly got to try it. The kit includes Chef José Andrés’ Chicken Paella Valenciana and Martha Stewart’s Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake for dessert. Additionally, you get a traditional paella pan, bomba rice, wooden utensils, and all the instructions necessary to whip up chef-worthy dishes from the comfort of home.

Everything came shipped with dry ice and was packed perfectly. The paella consists of chicken wings, veggies, and a flavorful saffron-infused broth that is to die for. Best of all, the instructions are incredibly easy to follow and only require about 45 minutes of cook time with virtually zero prep. After dinner, we topped the chocolate cake with the included flaky salt and dug in. Each rich chocolatey layer was filled with gooey, salted caramel filling, and the salt just took it over the edge. Yes, chef indeed.

For $179.95 and free shipping, this meal kit could easily feed a crowd, although after one taste, you might want to keep it all to yourself. If you need us, we’ll be catching Yes, Chef! on Mondays at 10/9c (streaming next day on Peacock) with a slice of Martha’s Chocolate Cake. Now isn’t that fabulous?
