Pop darling Sabrina Carpenter appeared at the May 5 event in New York City wearing a brown bodysuit with a matching tuxedo coat and elegant tails that extended long past her petite frame.
Carpenter paired the daring look with sky-high brown platform heels and wore her long, blonde hair in loose waves for the occasion.
Fans loved the look on social media, tweeting that they “fell to my knees sabrina carpenter the woman that you are,” and teasing that she “Skips the Pants” at the event.
Sabrina Carpenter told La La Anthony in an interview with Vogue that the Louis Vuitton outfit, a not-so-subtle nod to her 2024 hit song “Espresso,” was dreamed up by the brand’s men’s creative director, Pharrell Williams.
Per Billboard, the petite songstress, who regularly wears similar bodysuits in concert, said Williams told her, “You’re quite short, so no pants for you.”
Williams also served as a co-chair of the event with LeBron James, who had to pull out from attending at the last minute due to an injury.
The NBA star tweeted, “Unfortunately because of my knee injury I sustained at the end of the season I won’t be able to attend the Met Gala in NY tonight as so many people have been asking and congratulating me on!”
