We needn’t “Guess” the color of Charli XCX’s 2025 Met Gala look any longer. After stepping out in an all-white Marni gown made from patchworked T-shirts at last year’s event, Charli opted for the opposite end of the color spectrum tonight: In an all-black suit and transparent skirt accentuated with feathers, she looked like a brat Black Swan. She wore subtly smoky eye makeup and styled her hair in a feathered headpiece. (She, notably, kept her “chic” eye bags minimal.)
Her latest Met Gala appearance comes on the back of a banner year for Charli, whose brat album took home three Grammys and spawned a cultural movement during the summer of 2024. She was most recently spotted on the Coachella stage in April, where she brought up friends and collaborators Troye Sivan, Billie Eilish, and Lorde for performances of “Talk talk,” “Guess,” and “Girl, so confusing.”
Though Charli will finish up her current tour this summer, she has plenty to keep her busy in the coming months. She’ll next guest-star in Overcompensating, Benito Skinner’s new Prime Video series produced by A24, and as she told ELLE.com in April, she’s currently into “making movies and posting on TikTok.” What that means for her music is yet to be seen, but trust she still has plans to keep the bangers coming both on-screen and off. “With my albums, I’m writing about how I’m feeling most of the time,” she told ELLE.com. “But with film, it’s like, I get to be part of the backdrop or the soundtrack to someone else’s story, which is interesting.”
