Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco were notably absent from the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art tonight during the 2025 Met Gala.
The Only Murders in the Building star and her husband-to-be did not explain their absence, but just hours ago, Gomez did share a very chill and candid photo dump on Instagram showing photos of her at home, with friends and loved ones, eating good food and hanging out in comfy clothes. So, it’s possible that after debuting a whole new joint album, the couple just decided to take it easy this first Monday in May.
Gomez and Blanco also did not attend last year’s Met Gala, which was not a huge surprise, as the singer’s last Met Gala appearance was in 2018.
Still, the couple has made several joint red-carpet appearances this year, starting with the Golden Globes in January. There, the “Call Me When You Break Up” singer looked dreamy in a Cinderella-like icy-blue gown from Prada and layers of diamonds—including her massive engagement ring from Blanco. He matched her energy in a white suit and coordinating lacy top.
Gomez and Blanco also attended the 2025 SAG Awards in February—where she looked like a modern Snow White in an off-the-shoulder black dress and a red lip. And in March, they walked the red carpet at the 2025 Oscars together. The pop star was all elegance in a golden dress, while Blanco wore an ivory three-piece suit.
