And just like that, Sarah Jessica Parker has confirmed that she’ll be missing out on the 2025 Met Gala.
The actor, who is typically a regular at fashion’s biggest night, shared in an interview with Entertainment Tonight why you won’t be seeing her walk up the stairs at this year’s event.
“I have to work, but there’s gonna be so much to see and I look forward to seeing what everybody does,” the Sex and the City alum explained. “And I can’t wait to see how they interpret the theme and the sort of homework they did for the assignment.”
Parker added, “I care a lot about it and I want to try to really honor the work of the curators and everybody who sort of inspired the moment for those of us who get to attend.”
This year’s Met Gala theme is based on the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” The exhibit was inspired by Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, and explores
During the 2024 Met Gala, which was themed “Garden of Time,” the star attended wearing a cream-colored structured midi gown from Richard Quinn with crystal embellishments, and a matching oversized hat from Phillip Treacy.
She paired the look with matching tights, nude stiletto pumps, and a pearl strand necklace that nearly swept the floor.
As for her glam, she kept it soft with blown-out curls styled into a high half-ponytail, and her signature gray-smoky eye shadow and a nude lip. She notably also brought along her longtime friend and Bravo host extraordinaire, Andy Cohen.
