Gigi Hadid returned to the Met Gala on her own this evening. Bradley Cooper did not join her, despite Hadid recently going Instagram official with the actor.
Throughout the pair’s year-and-a-half of dating, Cooper and Hadid have never done a red carpet together. The couple has decided to keep the focus on their work or fashion whenever they attend events, rather than put the spotlight on their relationship.
They are far from the only couple to have this mindset. Zendaya and Tom Holland, who are newly engaged, have only done red carpets together for joint projects. Holland goes to Zendaya’s premieres, but he skips posing for photos with her “because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us,” he told Men’s Health.
Hadid and Cooper were first romantically linked in October 2023. The actor just joined his partner for her 30th birthday party at the end of April. At the celebration, she wore a gold ring on her left ring finger, sparking rumors about their relationship status.
A source told People that they were affectionate throughout the night. “She and Bradley were very cute,” the source said. “They mingled and had fun, but also kissed every time they got near each other. It was clear that she had a beautiful celebration. And it was even clearer that she’s incredibly happy with where her life is right now, especially with Bradley by her side.”
In March, Hadid spoke about Cooper to Vogue. Their relationship is “very romantic and happy,” she said, noting the parts they keep private are “just not part of our relationship to share for whatever reason.”
It took work for her to be able to find the kind of love they have: “I think just getting to the point where knowing what you want and deserve in a relationship is essential,” she said. “And then to find someone that is in a place in their life where they know what they want and deserve…and you both do work separately to come together and be the best partner that you can be. I just feel really lucky. Yeah, lucky’s the word.”
