Basketball legend and fashion icon Angel Reese stepped out at the 2025 Met Gala for “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and we. are. obsessed. The athlete—who’s on this year’s celeb-packed host committee—arrived on the red carpet wearing an absolutely beautiful lace-up look by Thom Browne.
“It’s always been both: basketball and fashion,” Angel recently told Vogue. “But I was a fashion girlie from young too. Like—let me find this picture my mom sent—I was always in my mom’s closet, putting on her stuff. I liked to carry a purse. Hair done. I wanted to look put together. I still do.”
“I used to watch America’s Next Top Model with Tyra and practice my walk in the living room,” she added.
Angel also chatted to Business of Fashion about bringing style to the basketball court, saying in an interview last year, “I make sure my nails, hair, lashes and edges are done, and then I take it to the court. That same girl must still be a competitor and a dog on court. I’m all about normalizing that you can live both lives—you don’t have to just be an athlete.”
