You’re no stranger to a good bargain, and you’re willing to shop around to get it. It’s not uncommon for you to make several trips in one outing to get the best price on everything on your list. But hopping between Target and Walmart and Costco can get a little tiresome after a while, even for a veteran bargain hunter like you.

1. Toilet Paper Is Cheaper at Target Than Costco

Unless you have a real need to buy in bulk — in which case you’ll spend between $25 and $35 on TP at Costco — you’re generally better off getting toilet paper at Target. The largest size of the store brand at Target runs about $18.99 but smaller sizes packs cost as little as $6.99.

2. Doggie Dental Chews Are Cheaper at Target Than Costco

Costco’s Kirkland brand offers its own healthy doggie dental chews for $36.99. While you get a lot of chews for your dollar, it’s more than most pet owners need unless you’re feeding a whole pack. A basic bag of Milk-Bone dental chews at Target costs just $13.4 9– a much better deal for single-dog households.

3. Dish Soap Is Cheaper at Target Than Costco

A large container of Kirkland brand dish soap at Costco isn’t terribly expensive at $9.99, but you find even cheaper options at Target. Some Dawn varieties start at $1.39, and Target’s house brand ranges from $2.59 to $7.59.

4. Trash Bags Are Cheaper at Target Than Walmart

In a battle of the store brands, you’d probably do better at Target than Walmart. A box of Target’s mint-scented, rodent-repelling trash bag goes for about $6.99, while Walmart’s basic trash bags — which don’t come with the minty scent that makes vermin hold their noses — start at $7.44.

5. Paper Bowls Are Cheaper at Target Than Walmart

It’s not summer without a good cookout or two — and there’s no cookout without sturdy paper bowls for things like potato salad and salsa. A bag of Hefty paper bowls costs $2.79 at Target, while Walmart’s Great Value brand retails for $5.98.

6. Dryer Sheets Are Cheaper at Target Than Walmart

At Target, you can get a box of Gain dryer sheets starting at $3.99 — not a bad deal for fresh-smelling clothes that won’t give you a static shock. However, at Walmart, even the Great Value brand starts at $5.98, making it more expensive, comparatively.
