Grant Cardone has built a large real estate portfolio and has helped others do the same. He often mentions that success is your duty while sharing the importance of multiplying your income so you can escape the middle class.

However, Cardone’s definition of success goes far beyond stacking dollar bills. He touches on this in his book “Be Obsessed Or Be Average.” Cardone explains that some people are financially successful but have bad relationships and feel unfulfilled.

“Success is about being great at many things,” Cardone explained.

Don’t Miss:

  • Deloitte’s fastest-growing software company partners with Amazon, Walmart & Target – Many are rushing to grab 4,000 of its pre-IPO shares for just $0.30/share!

  • Maker of the $60,000 foldable home has 3 factory buildings, 600+ houses built, and big plans to solve housing — this is your last chance to become an investor for $0.80 per share.

Thriving In Multiple Areas

Cardone strives to grow his finances, but he also prioritizes other things, such as his family and fitness. He attributes this to being obsessed. Cardone has a desire to discover what he is capable of and goes all-in on the things he cares about.

You can be good at multiple things and be obsessed in those areas, but you need clarity first. Cardone encourages people to write a list of their biggest goals. If it comes to mind, write it down, and don’t minimize it.

Writing big goals and striving to be successful in multiple areas will expand your thinking. Life also gets more exciting when you pursue ambitious goals instead of small goals that barely move you forward. Know what areas you want to be good at and then create plans for each one.

Defining Success

We all have different definitions of success. Some people want to be home as much as possible, while others view success as starting multiple businesses that generate sizable profits.

Cardone gives a rough blueprint. Success is about being great at multiple things, but you have to decide which skills and hobbies to pursue. However, you don’t have to initially like the work in the beginning.

Interestingly, Cardone didn’t always like selling, but he knew it was an important skill. As he got better at it, he came to love selling and now coaches many business owners on how to close more deals. Your definition of success and the things you enjoy will change as you go.

Money Is Still Important

Although Cardone mentioned that some rich people lose out on other areas of their lives, he isn’t an advocate of having a work-life balance. Some people may hear stories like these and state that money isn’t everything.

While money isn’t absolutely everything, having more money gives you more choices. Cardone frequently preaches this point since he knows what it’s like to penny-pinch in the middle class.

Cardone saw his mother hunt for coupons and discounts after his father passed away. He saw how dangerous it was to operate paycheck to paycheck and hoping that his father’s best egg would be enough.

He doesn’t put money on the altar. Cardone goes all-in on various parts of his life, but he’s not the type to slow down when it comes to making money and discovering new business opportunities. You don’t have to choose between making a lot of money and being present in your family. Obsessed people can figure out how to do both effectively.
